Two positions to study towards M.Sc. degree

Location: DepartmentÌýof Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂé¶¹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ, Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada
±Ê°ù´ÇÂá±ð³¦³Ù:ÌýFood Bioactives Research Program of ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂé¶¹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ (dal.ca/fbrp) is initiating a new research project on developing and assessing plant-derived cosmeceutical ingredients.
The project is supported by a local agri-food industry partner and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada. In general, the interdisciplinary research activities include green extraction and encapsulation technologies of plant bioactives, analytical chemistry, biochemical and cell-based assays, and product development and assessment. Opportunity exists for continuation toward a Doctoral degree that will depend on the progress of the candidate and the availability of additional research grants.
Qualifications:ÌýApplicants must hold a B.Sc. honors degree in biochemistry, chemistry, food science and technology or related discipline and meet admission requirements to the M.Sc. in Agriculture program. Interest and knowledge about natural product chemistry, mammalian biochemistry, and/or cosmetic science would be a strong asset. ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂé¶¹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ encourages candidates from under-represented groups, including members of the four designated groups, as defined by the Employment Equity Act (women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and racialized minorities).
Starting Date: September 01, 2022
Stipend:Ìý$23,000/year for two years
