¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ۺϒs Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is on a mission to raise over $38 million of the university’s overall $750 million-goal for Bringing Worlds Together: ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ۺϒs campaign for transformational change. While $38 million is an ambitious goal, the Faculty has aspirational plans.

The Faculty of Engineering provides students with a quality education that extends beyond the classroom and prepares them to solve real-world problems. It has been a leader in engineering education for more than 115 years. Now, its focus on educational innovation and immersive learning is preparing the next generation of bold engineering leaders.

The Faculty of Management is in campaign mode. Our mission to raise $52 million through Bringing Worlds Together is ambitious, but so are our plans, which have the potential to solve the biggest challenges facing the world today.

Dale Daley wanted to motivate pharmacy students to be the best they can be. An award created in his name is doing just that.

Inspired by his father’s side gig flipping houses, Josh Hatfield imagined a future in business. With donor support through the BComm Class of 1997 Scholarship, the Faculty of Management student is achieving his goal.

Chemical engineering student Sapna Natarajan found purpose through her involvement in campus societies. These donor-supported groups fostered community, leadership skills, and career opportunities, defining her university experience.

This week, Dr. Ron Stewart (MD’70, LLD’17), a notable alum and generous supporter of Dal, passed away. His journey from family medicine to Nova Scotia Minister of Health and beyond changed emergency medicine forever.

Her husband, Douglas Werner established an undergraduate scholarship in her name to support aspiring scientists. Now he’s expanding that commitment to create opportunities for graduate students.

The ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ Faculty of Medicine's Girls Just Wanna Have Funding campaign movement fights the systemic underfunding of women in medical research. Despite groundbreaking contributions, female scientists receive fewer resources, stifling innovation.

Masstown Market, through alum Laurie Jennings' (BSc'87) donation, supports ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ۺϒs Cultiv8 program, enhancing food security, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture with a climate battery greenhouse and student internship opportunities.

Announced Oct. 24 in Holyrood, N.L., the Nippon Foundation-POGO Centre for Excellence is funding nearly a quarter of a million dollars over three years to help support a prestigious, cross-institutional ocean studies program for budding scientists.

Dal’s Faculty of Science is now home to a transformative student support fund designed to encourage future ocean scientists: The Michael Albert Garron Fund.

In memory of Dr. Mohamed E. El-Hawary, the Faculty of Engineering has established the Mo El-Hawary International Student Bursary. The bursary will provide financial assistance to international students pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at Dal, with a special focus on those studying electrical engineering.

¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ lost a close friend and community member on May 13, 2024, with the passing of Arthur Irving, 93. His legacy will live on at ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ, especially through the Irving Oil Auditorium, and through his support of Dal Engineering students.

Robert Richardson (BComm’84) believes education is the great equalizer. He says it helped him overcome barriers and opened up a wealth of opportunities. Richardson is helping to clear a path for promising students who face similar challenges in achieving their dreams.

Dr. Dale Dauphinee (BSc'59, MD'64) has been giving to ¼¤ÇéÒÁÈËÂ鶹¾Ã¾Ã×ÛºÏ for 40 consecutive years in support of improving medical education — his lifelong interest — alongside medical research.
