What you will learn

This week-long field trip gives students the chance to experience a wide range of landscapes across the United Kingdom, from historic estates and botanical gardens to contemporary public spaces. Throughout the week, students will explore how design, engineering, horticulture, and agriculture come together to shape places that are both functional and culturally significant. In Nova Scotia, we have limited exposure to landscapes of this scale and history, so the trip offers a valuable opportunity to see how centuries of design and stewardship influence the land. Students will be asked to think about how these ideas and approaches could translate to our own rural context. The study abroad opportunity will be linked to students’ academic transcript through a co-curricular record.

Activities can include:

·         Visit to the KEW Royal Botanical Gardens

·         Visit to Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival

·         Visit to Blenheim Palace and Gardens

·         Visit to the Roman Baths

·         Central London Sightseeing
