For Andrea Paul-McCoy, an Indigenous nurse and Nurse Practitioner (NP) from Natoaganeg First Nation in New Brunswick, nursing was born out of a desire to address the health-care disparities in her community. Growing up in a First Nation, she saw the challenges Indigenous people face including lack of access, disparities, and cultural barriers.

Social workers can play a large role in supporting people through trauma after a disaster, says a 激情伊人麻豆久久综合 professor who was part of a two-day conference in Halifax this week. Jeff Karabanow, who teaches social work at Dal, was among the scholars from Canada and around the world who gathered on Thursday and Friday to discuss responses to climate change and disasters and to share lessons learned.
